Western Regional Survey Conference 2026 – A Legacy of Collaboration

March 18–21, 2026 – Las Vegas, Nevada

The Western Regional Survey Conference returns in 2026, bringing together land surveyors, geospatial professionals, and mapping experts from across the western United States. Hosted jointly by the Western Federation of Professional Surveyors (WFPS) and its eight state associations, the conference continues a long tradition of advancing the profession through education, innovation, and interstate collaboration.

A Brief History of the Western Federation of Professional Surveyors

The WFPS was founded in 1979 to unite the surveying societies of the western states into a single voice for professional practice, education, and public awareness. The federation has been instrumental in promoting reciprocity among western states, supporting education scholarships, and helping shape national standards for survey accuracy and ethics.

Over the decades, the Western Regional Survey Conference has become one of the most important gatherings in North America for the geospatial community, rotating among host states and featuring technical sessions that reflect the rapidly evolving role of the modern land surveyor — from boundary retracement to GNSS and LiDAR integration.

What to Expect in 2026

The 2026 conference in Las Vegas will feature:

  • Technical workshops and continuing education sessions
  • GNSS, UAS, and digital mapping technology demonstrations
  • Panel discussions on professional standards and licensure mobility
  • A large exhibition hall with vendors representing every major sector of the industry

It’s more than a conference — it’s a chance to connect with the people shaping the future of surveying in the western United States.
